St Swithun Wells Parish

The Catholic Parish of St Swithun Wells was inaugurated on 10th December 2010 – the feast of St Swithun Wells – and unites the Parishes of Bishop’s Waltham, Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh with Fair Oak and Romsey with North Baddesley.

The Parish brings together the six worshipping communities (from left to right and top row then bottom in the images below) of St Joseph’s in Romsey; Holy Cross in Eastleigh; Our Lady Queen of the Apostles in Bishops Waltham; St Swithun Wells in Fair Oak; St Edward the Confessor in Chandlers Ford and St Andrew’s in North Baddesley. All these churches were part of a "Local Pastoral Area" before being combined into a single Parish.

The new Parish covers the geographical area from Romsey in the west to Bishop’s Waltham in the east skirting the northern boundary of Southampton. It serves in excess of 3000 parishioners across the six Churches in this central part of Hampshire which is part of the Diocese of Portsmouth.
